Upgraded to 7.2

Steps below are first posted at http://www.pauloamgomes.net/blog/upgrading-drupal-70-72, i changed them a little when using it to my site(exoool.com):

# get the new code of Drupal 7.2
wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.2.tar.gz

# uncompress it
tar xfzv drupal-7.2.tar.gz

# update the files
cp -r drupal-7.2/. ./public_html/.

# update the db
http://exoool.com/update.php,

It's so easy and smooth

Drupal 7.4 released, so need to upgrade it from 7.2

#Make sure to backup all the files before the upgrading
tar -czf public_html.tar.gz public_html/

# get the new code of Drupal 7.4
wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.4.tar.gz

# uncompress it
tar xfz drupal-7.4.tar.gz

# update the files
cp drupal-7.4/. ./public_html/. -r

# update the db
http://exoool.com/update.php

#Restore the .htaccess files from previous backup
vim .htaccess ##copy and paste changes from previous .htaccess file

Done

Drupal upgraded frequently recently. Not long after 7.4, Drupal 7.7 released yesterday:

#Make sure to backup all the files before the upgrading
tar -czf public_html.tar.gz public_html/

# get the new code of Drupal 7.7
wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.7.tar.gz

# uncompress it
tar -zxf drupal-7.7.tar.gz

# update the files
cp drupal-7.7/. ./public_html/. -r

# update the db
https://exoool.com/update.php

#Restore the .htaccess files from previous backup
vim .htaccess ##copy and paste changes from previous .htaccess file

#Restore the robots.txt files from previous backup
vim robots.txt ##copy and paste changes from previous robots.txt file

After this upgrading, I have a kind of funny question that: "If I have Drupal 7.7 in hand, how far am I from Drupal 8.0?"

Drupal 7.8 released.

#Make sure to backup all the files before the upgrading
tar -czf public_html.tar.gz public_html/

# get the new code of Drupal 7.8
wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.8.tar.gz

# uncompress it
tar -zxf drupal-7.8.tar.gz

# update the files
cp drupal-7.8/. ./public_html/. -r

# update the db
https://exoool.com/update.php

#Restore the .htaccess files from previous backup
vim .htaccess ##copy and paste changes from previous .htaccess file

#Restore the robots.txt files from previous backup
vim robots.txt ##copy and paste changes from previous robots.txt file

Yet another step closer to Drupal 8?

7.8 to 7.9

Drupal 7.9 released.

#Make sure to backup all the files before the upgrading
tar -czf public_html.tar.gz public_html/
# get the new code of Drupal 7.9
wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.9.tar.gz

# uncompress it
tar -zxf drupal-7.9.tar.gz

# update the files
cp drupal-7.9/. ./public_html/. -r

# update the db
https://exoool.com/update.php

#Restore the .htaccess files from previous backup
vim .htaccess ##copy and paste changes from previous .htaccess file

#Restore the robots.txt files from previous backup
vim robots.txt ##copy and paste changes from previous robots.txt file

What's next? 7.91?

7.9 to 7.10, it's interesting to follow the drupal versions :)

#Make sure to backup all the files before the upgrade
tar -czf public_html.tar.gz public_html/
# get the new code of Drupal 7.10
wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.10.tar.gz

# uncompress it
tar -zxf drupal-7.10.tar.gz

# update the files
cp drupal-7.10/. ./public_html/. -r

# update the db
https://exoool.com/update.php

#Restore the .htaccess files from previous backup
vim .htaccess ##copy and paste changes from previous .htaccess file

#Restore the robots.txt files from previous backup
vim robots.txt ##copy and paste changes from previous robots.txt file

Upgrade from 7.10 to 7.12

wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.12.tar.gz

# uncompress
tar -zxf drupal-7.12.tar.gz

# update the files
cp drupal-7.12/. ./public_html/. -r

# update the db
https://exoool.com/update.php

#Restore the .htaccess files & the robots.txt files from previous backup
Done

wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-7.31.tar.gz

cp public_html/.htaccess public_html/robots.txt .

# uncompress
tar -zxf drupal-7.31.tar.gz

# update the files
cp drupal-7.31/. public_html/. -r

# update the db
http://exoool.com/update.php

#Restore the .htaccess files & the robots.txt files from previous backup
mv .htaccess robots.txt public_html/

Done
